Manager, External Communications for PepsiCo Beverages North America
Job Description:
The Manager of External Communications for PepsiCo Beverages North America (PBNA) is a multi-faceted role with a unique balance of corporate communications and external storytelling responsibilities across key business-critical storytelling topics, including but not limited to, sustainability, innovation, community and category insights and trends. The individual in this role will interface with a wide variety of internal leaders, subject matter experts, cross-functional and agency partners and PBNA Division contacts.
Accountabilities:
Support execution of corporate reputation communications plans for PBNA to drive awareness of and recognition for the company’s actions and successes and demonstrate how they support our business strategy.
Serve as liaison with PBNA Internal Communications to ensure storytelling across appropriate channels.
Serve as liaison with PepsiCo Corporate Communications on elevating PBNA external storytelling
Lead the day-to-day support and implementation of strategic communications plans for PepsiCo Recycling (messaging, consumer-facing activations, opportunistic earned media, social media programming, etc.).
Support securing positive earned media coverage and multi-media content to advance corporate storytelling around a variety of topics relevant to the PBNA business, including supply chain operations, sustainability, diversity and inclusion, facility milestones, category trends and insights, and awards and recognition.
Support executive thought leadership program, including securing earned media and speaking opportunities, establishing social media presence and content, and development and placement of owned content.
Support PBNA Corporate reputation by creating and managing updates to communication assets that highlight PBNA’s external communications narrative including slides, bios, one-pagers, messaging guides.
Support crisis communications around all crisis product, facility, transportation and workplace issues, as needed.
Work in partnership with External Communications Director and agency partner to monitor and optimize the performance of external content and campaigns, including to track, compile, and deliver cumulative summaries of amplification campaigns including comparative results and strategic analysis.

Qualifications/ Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum 5-7 yrs Previous PR/communications experience; corporate communications and media relations experience a must
Sustainability subject matter expertise strongly preferred
Media strategy acumen a must; high-level understanding of how the media works and current media landscape
Social media acumen a must; intermediate understanding of building executive visibility wholistically and purposefully in the social media realm to garner favorable engagement
Savvy media engagement skills, including direct interaction with trade, consumer and business media, and a proven record of securing favorable media coverage
Hands-on experience developing internal and external communications strategic plans and materials, including but not limited to press releases, media lists, pitches and message maps
High-level understanding of the PepsiCo beverage business, how it contributes to PepsiCo in total, and how it is perceived by external audiences (media, NGOs, local communities, and government entities).
Excellent oral and written communications skills
