Manager Internal Communications

Job Summary

Develop and execute communication to drive employee engagement and behaviors for assigned function and manage corporate reputation in a manner that supports the company’s goals. The position will spend a significant amount of time building relationships with management throughout the organization, as well as managing communication tools such as intranet, digital signage, etc.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide communication expertise and leadership to functional leaders and/or as a part of cross-functional teams for key enterprise projects/initiatives, including developing communications strategies and managing implementation

  • Work with functional leaders and executives in message development and say/do alignment and develop the communication system that ensures message integration, leadership involvement, efficient and effective distribution of information, and multi-directional dialogue

  • Provide communication expertise and leadership for key executive-led meetings/events, such as Town Halls and national sales meetings, and manage the creation and distribution of content through a variety of communications vehicles.

  • Ensure all communications are researched, written, designed, produced, translated, packaged, scheduled and delivered to employees’ on-time and on-budget.

  • In coordination with other members of the Communication & External Relations team, manage messaging and position the company positively with all stakeholders

Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area required

  • 7 years corporate communication or agency experience required

  • Proven experience with the use of a broad mix of communication strategies and channels to deliver simple, compelling messages quickly across the organization to all levels of employees

  • Strong influencing skills and executive presence

  • Strong fundamental business acumen and analytical skills necessary to communicate critical business context and establish effectiveness metrics

  • Strategic orientation and the desire and ability to define and guide communication strategy

  • Expert-level communication (written and verbal) and message development skills

  • Demonstrated project management skills

  • Sound judgment and ability to make sound decisions in a fast paced business environment

  • Experience working cross-functionally with partners at all levels

  • Experience working with the media a plus
