Communications Lead, PNC (Remote)

As a Communications Lead for PNC’s Asset Management Group (AMG) and PNC Investments (PNCI), you will be a member of The PNC Financial Services Group’s Corporate Communications department. You will be based remotely within PNC's footprint.
The Communications Lead is a member of the Corporate Communications and Marketing team, composed of over 200 professionals, advising the AMG line of business, with $320 billion in assets under administration, and PNC Investments on critical communications trends and needs in support of business objectives. This individual plays a hands-on role in the design and execution of a results-oriented and holistic external strategic communications program that advances AMG’s and PNCI’s reputation, broadens awareness, and increases visibility across external stakeholder audiences. In addition, this individual will closely collaborate on executive communications.
What You'll Do:
• Support the implementation of a strategic and holistic communications program to position PNC/AMG/PNCI as an industry leader
• Offer communications counsel to AMG and PNCI business leaders; create awareness of external industry communications, provide updates on progress, help advise on approach for current and future communications opportunities and help prepare leaders for media interviews and engagement
• Serve as an AMG and PNCI point of contact for national and industry trade media relations, including proactive announcements, drafting and publishing press releases, handling media inquiries and leading ongoing campaigns; serving as a spokesperson as needed
• Build upon the external communications strategies for selected PNC leaders, who engage as thought leaders in social media and regularly appear in financial and economic news
• Enhance public profile of business leaders and amplify business priorities by providing counsel on strategic use of social media
• Collaborate with Corporate Communications, our Regional Presidents’ Organization, Regional Communications teams, and Marketing to ensure AMG and PNCI external communications are aligned across the organization, including in social media channels, and thought leadership content
• Leverage data and results to inform line of business approach, use data to help inform future communications strategies and measure the effectiveness of campaigns
• Support crisis/reactive communications as-needed on AMG-specific issues, including customer, media and other stakeholder communications as required
• Contribute to a high-performance culture built on teamwork, trust and a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and learning
Qualifications:
• 5-7+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations with financial industry media relations experience highly preferred
• 5+ years of experience in the development of communications strategies in support of reputation, media relations, stakeholder relationship-building and crisis/issue management
• Experience with both strategic and tactical social media initiatives and using social media to enhance business objectives.
• Strong writer and editor; excellent story telling capability and ability to develop content that resonates across multiple platforms
• Strong media experience and relationships and demonstrated record of proactive, earned media placements
• A strong grasp of communications and PR measurement and how they can help inform and impact business decisions

This is a remote position and can sit anywhere within the PNC footprint, except for Colorado, Hawaii, Alaska. There is limited expectation for regular in-person, in-office activities.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic – Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
Base Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience.
