PepsiCo Seeks Gatorade Communications (L11 – Sr. Communications Manager)

The Sports and Fitness team is looking for a Sr. Communications Manager to join their team of four communications professionals. This role oversees the development and execution of successful internal and external facing programs on behalf of Gatorade. Reporting to the Communications Director, the position will require strategic program development and oversight, cross-functional collaboration and contribution to best-in-class communications programming.

 

Specifically, this position will be responsible for leading the day-to-day planning and execution for Gatorade’s external communications priorities, inclusive of:

·         Contributing to the development and execution of strategic brand communications that meet overall business objectives; plans which deliver earned media impressions

·         Developing and managing communications for new product launches and brand campaigns

·         Driving media relations and storytelling for the brand both proactively and reactively by cultivating positive working relationships with key members of the media including traditional sports, business, nutrition, lifestyle and endurance

·         Supporting the executive communications agenda and driving executions across earned and owned channels

·         Developing strong relationships with key, cross-functional partners across disciplines including marketing, legal, consumer relations, R&D / Nutrition as well as other corporate communications colleagues 

·         Serving as a liaison with PepsiCo corporate communications to keep them informed of business unit’s ongoing internal & external activity

·         Supporting the management of day-to-day agency partners

 

Qualifications/Requirements

 

  • 8-10 years communications experience; prior experience in sports and/or CPG is preferred

  • Media relations expertise and strong existing relationships focused on sports, nutrition and consumer verticals

  • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong background in building communications program which drive business growth

  • Strong interpersonal skills – networking, relationship-building, cross-functional collaboration

  • Proficient in the latest consumer and cultural trends; specifically as it relates to the sports world and our athlete target

  • A sharp, creative and consumer-centric point-of-view

  • Considerable event management experience

  • Proven ability to interact with and council executive leadership

  • High proficiency writing, creative thinking, multi-tasking and collaboration

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and operate with agility

  • Must be willing and able to conduct occasional travel 15-20% of time

  • Bachelor’s degree required; ideally in English, Communications, PR or related field
