Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced PR professional with approximately 10-12 years’ experience to support a maternity leave role for approximately six months. This role will serve as a key senior strategic client counsel involved in the day-to-day on one to two consumer focused pieces of business.
Looking for an experienced media relations professional with a demonstrable track record in consumer brand PR and large-scale PR programming.
They are a dynamic, solutions-oriented professional. They understand the changing media landscape and take a modern communications approach to media relations and influencer relations.
They have experience working with senior level executives to tackle business challenges and have a history of developing insight-led campaigns that generated culturally relevant work and national press coverage. They juggle multiple projects and are driven, detail-oriented, amicable, a strong collaborator and hungry to do great work. In addition, they are an inspirational force that galvanizes teams and is willing to roll up their sleeves to make things happen, drawing on our vast capabilities from strategy, creative, social, PR and more to bring the best thinking to the table.
This is a temp position (full or part time option) based remotely with east coast hours and reports to the Head of Public Relations.
Responsibilities
Support leading one to two consumer focused client relationships
Provide strategic counsel and ongoing insights/POVs related to the changing media landscape
Strong media relationships in the consumer lifestyle space a plus
Help plan, develop and executive public relations activities in accordance with the client's objectives and budget
Support client relationship during senior lead absence
Ability to quickly immerse into client's business to anticipate client needs
Apparel and footwear (sports, running and/or lifestyle) industry knowledge and experience a plus
Strong presence and ability to confidently deliver POVs in client meetings and brainstorms
Hold expertise in media relations
influencer relations, event management and social media experience a plus
Provide guidance and mentorship
Could support new business when called upon to bring fresh new ideas
Qualifications
Education:
Four-year degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related field
Experience:
10-12+ years of experience in an agency or client-side role
Knowledge and practical experience working with large consumer brands
Apparel and footwear (sports, running and/or lifestyle) industry knowledge and experience a plus
Hold excellent writing, issues response and media relations skills
Experience interacting with executive level clients
Ability to collaborate and work in a remote team environment
Proven success in campaign and product launches for large national brands
Seasoned in media culture by constantly finding new ways to break through
Soft skills:
Ability to develop and deliver persuasive POVs and programming plans by being comfortable in a room with clients, new business leads, press interviews, etc.
Strong media relations chops
Strong time management and prioritization skills
Ability to think creatively
Ability to write clear and concise communications including strategies, plans and presentations
Embody strong strategic skills to know how to frame an opportunity
