DAA Announces 2024 G.E.M.S. Cohort at NYC Event Sponsored by Omnicom PR Group

The Diversity Action Alliance (DAA) revealed the honorees of the prestigious 2024 G.E.M.S. (Growth in Equity as a Measure of Sustainability) award at an exclusive ceremony in New York City, sponsored by Omnicom PR Group. The G.E.M.S. award recognizes 50 public relations and communications leaders across the U.S. who have significantly contributed to leadership, innovation, and excellence in the industry while identifying as racially or ethnically diverse.

Top honorees include prominent figures from companies like Advantage Solutions, Zeno Group, and Ariel Investments. Additionally, seven industry legends were honored for their enduring advocacy for underrepresented groups, including leaders from LinkedIn, Medtronic, and the University of Texas Austin.

The event also featured a dynamic fireside chat between Chris Foster, CEO of Omnicom PR Group, and Doug Melville, CEO of Jodie AI, who discussed emerging trends in communication and leadership. A pre-ceremony town hall highlighted findings from DAA’s Equity and Inclusion Survey: Voices of Impact, offering valuable insights into the evolving workplace experiences of people of color.

DAA President Carmella Glover praised the G.E.M.S. honorees for their groundbreaking work and commitment to equity, which is central to the DAA’s mission of fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the communications industry.
