As Target Communications Sr. Business Partner, you will lead enterprise and external

communications that highlight Target’s investments in physical properties and their role in

bringing ease and convenience to Target guests.

- This position is responsible for working with Target’s Properties leaders to communicate

the continued investments in stores and supply chain facilities that elevate the guest

experience, enable stores to operate as fulfillment hubs across the country, and support

our REACH objectives in driving change and making Target more accessible to all

communities.

- The role will collaborate closely with Target Communications experts, internal colleagues

and agency partners to develop communication plans for a wide range of stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

- Advise SVP Properties and additional leaders regarding communications, including

preparing their participation in internal and external forums.

- Develop quarterly communications goals, strategic plans and narratives that showcase

Target’s investments in its properties and the role they play in enterprise strategy.

- Lead reactive communications and navigate complex or sensitive issues with cross-

functional partners to protect and strengthen Target’s reputation.

- Serve as an on-record spokesperson for Target with media.

- Develop relationships with relevant media in the communities where we do business.

- Manage PR agency relationships, performance and budgets.

- Monitor the media landscape daily to better understand how Target and our competitive

set are being covered externally.

Skills required:

- 7-10 years of related experience

- Strategic thinking (and ability to translate strategy into action and measurable results)

- Executive presence and the ability to coach/counsel senior leaders

- Ability to collaborate with peers and influence without authority

- Ability to balance multiple competing priorities on a daily basis

- Strong writing for various forms (i.e., email, speeches, media talking points)

- Media relations experience

- Storytelling mindset

- Business acumen

- Experience working in a corporate communications or agency setting
