Position Overview:

Having pre-established media relationships at national media outlets, they are a steward of the news and have a proven track record securing press coverage, experience developing narratives and an understanding of how to curate the compelling stories. They come to the table with innovative and creative ideas that capture the attention of press while working fluidly within a team and independently across projects. Account Supervisors must also be able to manage a client and team, collaborating with other offices and disciplines as needed.
This is a full-time exempt position based in New York City and reports to the Account Director. Depending on the team and client need, this position will manage, mentor, and guide AAE(s), AE(s) and/or SAE(s).
Responsibilities:
Lead multiple clients simultaneously and overall client relationships.
Lead planning, development and execution of Public Relations activities in accordance with the client's objectives and budget, with ability to land feature and broadcast coverage.
Lead thought leadership and executive outreach.
Manage client and program budgets.
Develop a deep knowledge of client's business to anticipate client needs.
Lead client meetings and brainstorms.
Provide expertise in media relations, influencer relations, event management and social media programming.
Maintain and nurture a robust network of press contacts.
Manage measurement tools and reporting.
Participate in and help new business presentations when called upon bringing fresh new ideas and strategic public relations campaigns.
Effectively and appropriately execute and delegate on client accounts to ensure goals are accomplished.
Understand the client’s needs and grow the relationship through exceptional results.
Lead by example, upholding MullenLowe’s core values and to act as a mentor to other members of the public relations team.
Maintain and educate public relations team surrounding effective and strategic public relations writing and messaging practices.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications preferred; or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in an agency, start up, client-side role or experience in a relevant creative industry.
Knowledge and practical application of media relations, influencer relations, social media and/or PR measurement practices and tools preferred.
Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting all basic and advanced press materials preferred.
A proven track record of gaining trust and respect by consistently demonstrating sound critical and creative thinking skills and maintaining composure in stressful situations.
Big brand experience a plus.
Soft skills:
Strong storytelling and administrative skills to consistently deliver quality work to the team and clients.
Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Ability to think creatively.
Agile high performer who can adapt to new conditions, assignments and deadlines.
Ability to write clear and concise communications including strategies, plans and presentations.
Thrives in fast-paced creative environment, often working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Strong writing skills.
Strong media relations skills.
