Bliss Seeks Account Supervisor or Director (PR-Marketing) - Business of Healthcare

Position Overview:

The Bliss Group is looking for an Account Supervisor or Account Director to join our growing Professional Services practice.  This hire will join a team responsible for the B2B integrated marketing activities and PR for our largest client.  

This hire must have relevant healthcare PR/marketing experience, “business of health” i.e., working with businesses that provide products or services to healthcare organizations. Ideally has had exposure to digital transformation/emerging tech as well.   Needs to be knowledgeable about the major issues and trends in healthcare, as well as be a go-to thought leader for all things related to how digital is changing the future of healthcare.

Experience in multiple PESO segments is a bonus, as this role will be responsible for advising clients on content, PR and marketing strategy across the PESO spectrum. This role will entail leading a small team focused on the business of health for this client and will serve as the day-to-day account lead for one or more senior clients.  Must have stellar writing and client counseling skills. 

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the day-to-day support for select clients, managing both strategy and execution

  • Leverage stellar writing/editing skills to develop and edit content (surveys/studies and other long-form thought leadership collateral, email marketing copy, digital ad copy, video scripts, etc.)

  • Develop media relations strategies, goals, media targets and pitch angles

  • Pitch the media

  • Serve as information leader on client teams, demonstrating industry or media-driven knowledge that directly and indirectly affects the client

  • Route articles of interest to account teams and client

  • Assist in the development of long-term client plans and program recommendations and developing budgets

  • Manage reporting mechanisms for client and account team

  • Participate with senior team leaders in client presentations

  • Coach/mentor junior staff and review their work for accuracy

  • Support organic new business development initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 4-6+ years (AS); 6-10+ years (AD) of public relations and integrated marketing experience required; agency experience preferred

  • PR/marketing experience in the business of health working within a professional services firm consulting to healthcare orgs, or working directly for a healthcare org/system is required. Must be able to speak to major trends and issues sweeping healthcare.

  • Experience with digital transformation, emerging tech, AI, etc. is a plus.

  • B2B communications experience is a MUST

  • Exceptional writing skills is a MUST

  • Exceptional client service and client counseling skills is a MUST. Be able to quickly establish authority with clients.

  • Intellectual curiosity, a passion for learning about a rapidly evolving industry, and a positive attitude!

  • Understanding of traditional news media landscape; experience pitching preferred

  • Understanding of integrated PESO marketing strategies

  • Proficiency in digital and social content marketing is a plus

  • Experience managing budgets profitably

  • Ability to grasp complex content

  • Thrives in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment

  • Works effectively within a team, demonstrating coordination, communication and problem-solving

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly, prioritizing multiple assignments, while being flexible to changing client and team needs & priorities

 

Work Location: temporarily remote but will be based in our NYC Office once we return in the coming months.
