Why:

2020 will go down in history as one of this country’s most challenging periods both economically and socially, and one that pushed the United States to undergo a powerful reckoning on the issue of race, permeating virtually all areas of life and business. The field of public relations is no exception. After years of slow-to-no progress fighting the diversity and inclusion crisis, we learned how critical our role is as communicators, and how agile our organizations could be in adapting to address the issues impacting our country.

One of the great legacies of 2020 will be its constructive impact on diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace. The unique challenges faced by BIPOC employees are now more apparent to the masses than ever, and stakeholders are demanding action over talk in the years to come.

This inaugural DAA Event is intended to showcase work that our communications organizations and colleagues have done in response to the past year’s revelations. We want to honor the standout change makers, share real stories from our industry peers, and inspire with words from the experts regarding Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Impact and Justice within our field.

When:

June 24, 2021 at 6:00pm ET
